For many of us, the term “fellowship” means being together for a meal or for recreation.  While that certainly is part of fellowship, the term in scripture means much more.  The word in the original language carries the idea of partnership, joint participation and “sharing what one has.”

Chili Supper 2013The goals of our fellowship activities are to create opportunities for association between believers, identify and manage benevolence opportunities, and to encourage and build up one another spiritually. A vital part of our fellowship efforts center around our Family Groups.  We have five Family Groups and each member of our church family is included in one of the groups.

Our Acts 2:46 Group was developed to help us get to know one another on a deeper level, emulating the Christians of the early church. The names of all those who choose to participate are paired randomly in groups of two households. The participants then contact each other and plan a time for whatever activity they decide. It could be a meal, or just coffee, playing games or enjoying conversation while sipping iced tea.

Some of the other fellowship activities that we coordinate are:

  • Colonels for Christ
  • Family Camp Out

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another...  Hebrews 10:24-25
